Claude
Groulx was born in Montreal, Canada, spending much of his time
participating in such sports as hockey, baseball, judo, karate
and skiing. When he was 20 years old, he became interested in
bodybuilding. He started training with a friend who had
already been training for a few years and who challenged him,
saying he wouldn't be able to last a week with him.
He
turned that challenge into a career, as he loved training from
the very start. After 3 or 4 years he entered his first
competition and, for the title of Mr. Montreal he took 2nd
place. The experience was so exciting to him that he promised
himself he would WIN the next show. And he did, becoming Mr.
Montreal the following year. The he went on to win the Mr.
Quebec and the Eastern Canada Overall competitions. In 1992 he
won the Mr. Canada and in 1994 got his Pro Card.
In
1996 he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began
training with other pros at Gold's Gym in Venice,
California. In 1998 he and his lovely wife moved to Miami,
where he lives yet today. Mostly he still trains at Gold's Gym,
only the one in North Miami, and he also provides personal
training. He started his own company for 'Final
Touch' Competition Cream and the 'Claude Groulx Muscle Wear,'
first of which are posing trunks.
